Horizontal Die & Mold Splitter
The HDS Series provides a safe and efficient solution for mold assembly, maintenance, inspection and repair. The two mold halves are securely mounted on opposing platens and separated horizontally under controlled motion.
Optional 0–90° platen tilting provides convenient access to internal mold components. Integrated testing functions allow operators to check the mold hydraulic circuit, ejector system and cooling-water circuit before returning the mold to production.
Key Advantages
- Quick die-change system on both platens
- Optional 0–90° platen tilting
- Controlled mold opening and closing
- Mold hydraulic-circuit testing
- Mold ejector-function testing
- Mold cooling-water circuit testing
- Siemens PLC control system
- Safe handling of heavy molds and dies
- Suitable for mold inspection, repair and maintenance
A Safer Way to Separate Heavy Dies and Molds
Opening a large mold by crane or forklift can be dangerous and inefficient. The mold may tilt, move unexpectedly or become damaged during separation.
The SANTSAI VDS Series provides a controlled method of lifting the upper mold half vertically while the lower half remains securely supported on the lower platen.
This allows operators to inspect, clean and repair the internal mold area without unsafe manual handling or repeated crane operations.
How It Works
- The closed die or mold is placed on the lower platen.
- The mold is positioned and securely clamped.
- The upper mold half is connected to the upper platen.
- The hydraulic system lifts the upper mold half vertically.
- The mold opens to the preset inspection height.
- Operators perform inspection, cleaning, repair or component replacement.
- The upper platen is lowered under controlled conditions.
- The upper and lower mold halves are aligned and closed safely.
