Why two-platen

Built around the mold—not around extra machine length.

The DP architecture combines a short machine envelope with generous mold space, direct hydraulic clamping and flexible injection-unit selection. Each benefit below connects the machine structure to a practical production result.

More usable mold space

Large daylight, wide tie-bar spacing and an unrestricted mold-opening stroke support deep parts and bulky tooling.

Two-platen layout → open mold area → easier large-mold accommodation

Compact production footprint

The two-platen arrangement shortens the clamping section compared with a conventional three-platen large machine.

Fewer structural platens → shorter layout → better floor-space use

Stable clamping movement

Rigid platens, a box-type body, guided platen support and synchronized locking help maintain repeatable mold motion.

Rigid structure + guided support → controlled movement → consistent molding

Configured for the process

Clamping, injection, screw, controller, interface and automation options can be combined around the application.

Modular platform → application-specific pairing → less compromise

Machine architecture

Space. Stability. Flexibility.

DP is a modular large-machine platform. Its two-platen clamp makes room for large molds while the injection unit, screw system, controls and interfaces are selected for the material, part geometry and required output.

01

Open mold area

Large opening stroke and flexible mold height for deep-cavity parts and large tooling.

02

Non-contact tie bars

Reduced sliding friction supports a clean mold area and low mechanical wear.

03

Modular combinations

Clamping and SP injection units can be paired to match shot size, pressure and plasticizing demand.

Core technology

Four systems working as one platform.

Explore the parts of the DP machine that matter most to mold movement, injection response, process stability and operator control.

SOUND DP synchronized locking and two-platen clamping system

Rigid clamping with synchronized locking

A box-type clamping body, parallel platens, T-type linear guidance and synchronized locking provide the mechanical foundation for stable mold motion.

  • Short-stroke high-pressure cylinders build clamping pressure rapidly.
  • Floating piston connections support even force transfer.
  • Guided platen support is specified for smooth, accurate travel.
  • Low-pressure mold protection helps protect tooling during closing.

Application fit

For large molds and demanding industrial parts.

The correct DP configuration is driven by more than tonnage. Mold dimensions, resin, projected area, shot weight, flow length, cycle target and automation all influence the final machine.

Frequently asked questions

What buyers usually need to confirm.

When is a two-platen machine a good fit?
Two-platen machines are especially useful when the project needs generous mold space, a large opening stroke or a shorter machine layout. The final choice still depends on projected area, resin, part geometry, output and mold functions.
How do I choose between DP models?
Begin with required clamping force, tie-bar spacing, mold height, daylight, opening stroke and mold weight. Then select the SP injection unit and screw diameter from shot size, injection pressure, flow length and plasticizing demand.
Can the DP series be supplied with automation?
Yes. Robot interfaces, core-pull control, hot-runner control, magnetic or hydraulic mold clamping, sequential injection and auxiliary equipment are available by configuration. The sequence and safety concept should be planned early.
What accuracy figures are specified for the platform?
The current DP catalog specifies ±0.2 mm mold opening/closing position accuracy, ±0.2 mm injection position accuracy and product repeatability of ≤5‰. Results must be validated with the final mold, material and process.
Are CE and regional interfaces available?
CE and SPI safety configurations are listed as options, together with multiple EUROMAP interfaces. Confirm the destination-country standard and full cell scope before the order specification is finalized.
Why are machine dimensions not shown in the summary table?
Overall dimensions change with the selected clamping/injection pairing and options. The project-specific layout drawing should be used for factory planning, utilities, transport, foundation and lifting review.
